Jay Weitzner of Symmetry becomes American Council on Exercise Certified Medical Exercise Specialist
Jay Weitzner, of Symmetry, in Naples, recently became an American Council on Exercise Certified Medical Exercise Specialist (CMES). With expertise working on musculoskeletal issues, his clients range from teens to seniors and sedentary people to professional athletes. The designation, which helps bridge the gap between the medical and exercise fields, is making it easier for physicians to recognize the role medical exercise plays in improving movement, joint and muscle issues, and reducing pain.
“The CMES designation adds credibility to my 22 years in the fitness industry, as its entire focus is working with special populations,” says Weitzner. “My specialty is working with people that don’t move well and consequently don’t feel well, so it’s a perfect complement.”Edit ModuleShow Tags
