Lotus Blossom Clinic Expands to Lee Health Regional Cancer Center
This month, the Lotus Blossom Clinic opened a second office in Fort Myers. Dr. David Martin is now able to provide Chinese medicine services, including acupuncture and tui na (Chinese medical massage) at the Lee Health Regional Cancer Center, in Fort Myers. He is seeing patients for all conditions, including cancer, receiving adjunctive therapy at the facility initially on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
With rising cancer rates, more people are seeking acupuncture for cancer treatment and prevention, including managing the body’s stress level and maintaining healthy body chemicals like serotonin rather than allowing chronic stress to create too much damaging cortisol.
Acupuncture is proven to lower stress and help manage pain, nausea, neuropathy, mental fog, fatigue, anxiety and more by changing the body’s chemistry. Patients often leave feeling as though they have just had a 90-minute massage. Further, the effects of acupuncture continue for several days and over time can accumulate, leading to a more permanent state of calm.
Martin also teaches simple stress-reduction techniques during treatment sessions and often provides food-as-medicine suggestions.
