Editor's letter
| I love how January signals a fresh start to a new year of possibilities. These days we’re fortunate to have Natural Awakenings-type folks everywhere we turn, gently, fervently, encouragingly reminding us that it is possible to create the life we want. For we are privy to an abundance of resources ready and willing to assist us. |
I also enjoy a solid circle of support in our local magazine office with the ever-growing team that makes monthly publication possible. Together we double as national headquarters support staff for 50+ Natural Awakenings franchise publishers around the country. They in turn sustain us. And our mutual intent ripples out to feed an expanding network of awakening communities.
Further, as we all become more aware of our role in the global community we see more clearly how the choices we make in our own backyard affect people throughout the world. Regardless of race, religion or socioeconomic status, we are in this together. We are part of the same web.
As Mother Earth struggles to correct the imbalances she is feeling, let us pray that enough people wake to our collective dependence on keeping her healthy. This must be our uniting point.
As we enter the new year, I’d like to suggest that you write out exactly what kind of world you want to live in. Then specify some baby steps that you can take now and going forward to help manifest these desires. What circles of support might you need to assist and make it fun?
Our intention is to help you make 2008 the best year of your life. May you repeatedly step out of your comfort zone into your growth zone. Let’s make 2008 the year we all live more fully as conscious human beings in wise relationship with our self and others. Let us live as true global citizens.
Experts assure us that Earth has all the resources we need if we only use them properly. Humankind has the essential knowledge to do this. It’s time to gather, speak and act on what matters most. Remember, that Natural Awakenings is here to help you find and form the vital circles that make it all work.
So here’s to a new kind of year. And a new you—enlightened, aligned and empowered to create a world that works for all.
Think it, do it, allow it!
