SafeHaven for Autistic Children
SafeHaven is a new organization that will focus on creating informative connections and safe havens for children and parents dealing with autism spectrum disorders. Helen Wagner and Tracy Peterson, who have children affected by autism, are seeking to bring these families together in a supportive environment, where they are nurtured and accommodated. Their first project will be an Autistic Caribbean Cruise, with special staff, special diets, priority boarding and appropriate events for these children, including sensory pool activities, private movie showings and group parties.
All activities will be structured to match individual abilities and age group. The Royal Caribbean cruise leaves June 22 out of Port Canaveral for 7 nights, visiting the Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Maarten.
