Sunshine Discount Vitamins

Karen Walker

Karen Walker, owner of Sunshine Discount Vitamins, in Naples, bought the store in 1996 from longtime Naples resident Ian McKeag. Delighted to turn a hobby into a career, Walker was also pleased to realize a lifelong dream of owning her own nutritional supplement store.

Walker combines her degree in home economics from East Tennessee State University with the ongoing research she keeps up with in the natural food and supplement industry and what she learned from educational seminars and trade shows she attended while working as a representative for Twinlab, a brand she carries in her store. “That side of the supplement business helped me to determine which brands to carry in my store,” says Walker.

Sunshine Discount Vitamins continues to succeed as an independent business after more than 20 years. “I feel certain that it is because I have always carried the top brands, given customers what they want and treated them as I want to be treated. We offer customers the added benefits of hosting a blood analysis technician once a month, as well as the nutritional advice of Gary Conner, a local medical doctor who stops by occasionally,” explains Walker. “Additionally, we have a monthly e-newsletter for anyone who wants to sign up for it.”

Sunshine Discount Vitamins is located at 2608 Tamiami Tr. N., in Naples. For more information call 239-436-6659 or visit
